Net Zero Australia’s ground-breaking study shows Australia’s huge opportunity for hydrogen

April 20, 2023

Net Zero Australia’s ground-breaking study shows Australia’s huge opportunity for hydrogen in their final modelling results out last night. As a sponsor of the project we are proud to be a part of it and congratulate the Net Zero Australia team on the scale and depth of their final modelling results of pathways to net zero and encourage everyone to review their insights that will be vital to the energy transition. The modelling illustrates a clear need for enormous energy transmission in various forms, including over 20,000kms of new pipelines to transport the hydrogen, water and CO2 necessary to achieve net zero on this scale.

Net Zero Australia is a partnership of The University of Melbourne, The University of Queensland, Princeton University’s Andlinger Center for Energy and Environment, and Nous Group. It is funded by gifts and grants from various sponsors including Future Fuels CRC and has received input from a diverse advisory group.
