UNSW’s FutureZero Solutions take first place at the Chemeca Hackathon

October 3, 2023

Congratulations to UNSW’s FutureZero Solutions team for taking first place at the Chemeca 2023 Hackathon competition, sponsored and supported by Future Fuels CRC and Fonterra.

The competition gave student teams the chance to conceptually design an alternative gaseous fuel infrastructure solution that supports the transition from carbon intensive fuels to net zero carbon emission fuels at dairy plants. As part of the Hackathon, participants had the opportunity to hear from and meet with researchers, industry experts and others working at the forefront of the transition to net zero carbon fuels. Read more about the case description and challenge.

The competition attracted a really strong field of entrants and we’d like to congratulate all the teams including:

University of NSW – first place
University of Waikato – second place
University of Queensland – third place
